A Different Kind of Summer

There’s something strange about suddenly having space.

For so long, my days have been scheduled down to the minute — work, school pickups, soccer, laundry, dinner, repeat. And now, for the first time in a long time, I’m stepping into a season that feels a little uncertain… but also full of possibility.

If I’m honest, it’s both exciting and scary.

This summer looks different for our family. I’ll be home more with the kids, which is something I’ve wanted deeply. More slow mornings. More fun days. More saying “yes” to afternoon ice cream runs and random adventures instead of constantly watching the clock.

But I also don’t want this season to just be about resting. I want it to be about growing.

Lately, I’ve found myself leaning into opportunities that are outside of my comfort zone — the kind of things I normally would’ve overthought myself out of. New conversations. New ideas. New ways of working that feel a little more entrepreneurial and creative than anything I’ve done before.

And honestly? I don’t fully know where any of it leads.

But I’m learning that sometimes growth starts before confidence shows up.

I think this season is teaching me that it’s okay to try something different. It’s okay to evolve. It’s okay to choose a life that makes more room for family, health, creativity, and curiosity.

I want to take care of myself better.
I want to be more present with my kids.
I want to see what happens when I stop assuming I have to stay inside the version of life I’ve always known.

So here’s to uncomfortable growth.
To trying.
To slowing down.
To summer.
To becoming someone new, little by little.
