Borrasca by C.K. Walker was a short, fast-paced horror story that completely caught me off guard. I thought I'd figured out what was happening in the town of Drisking, Missouri. I couldn't have been more wrong! And that ending? I'm still thinking about it.
I expected a creepy lost-in-the-woods story when I started The Dwelling by Judith Sonnet. What I got was something completely different! The monsters, the gore, and that confusing ending made this one memorable, even if it wasn't a favorite.
I finished The Thing That Followed You Home by Boris Bacic last night, and I'm still thinking about it! Between the creepy Appalachian setting, the mysterious eyes, and Ethan's heartbreaking story, this supernatural horror book had me hooked. My first Boris Bacic book definitely won't be my last.

I love a good ghost story, and The Folcroft Ghosts by Darcy Coates was exactly what I wanted! This short, creepy supernatural mystery had actual ghosts, family secrets, and two siblings I couldn't help rooting for. A perfect October read!
I absolutely loved The Witch by Freida McFadden! Between the creepy old estate, the alternating timelines, the town's history, and twists I didn't see coming, this was one book I deliberately took my time reading because I didn't want it to end.
Heart-Shaped Box was my first Joe Hill book, and while it started a little slowly for me, once it got going, it was like a runaway train. Here's what I thought about this creepy mix of ghosts, horror, suspense, mystery, and gore.
I loved The Haunting of Blackwood House by Darcy Coates! This creepy supernatural story had everything I wanted: a haunted house, ghosts, a dark history, and a main character determined not to believe any of it.
