Stolen Tongues, by author Felix Blackwell, tugged at my supernatural-loving heartstrings. The main characters, Felix and Faye, go to her family’s cabin to celebrate their engagement. But odd things start to happen. Supernatural things. Moans and screams are heard in the woods. So are the sounds of children and other crazy voices. They can see a dark figure standing at the tree line. Felix hears his fiancée mumbling. Turns out, she’s whispering back to those noises in the trees!
The author did a great job describing what being sleep-deprived does to you, especially when these strange things start happening to Faye. And how do you defeat something in your dreams? How do you defeat a monster that comes through your nightmares?
It’s really an amazing book with such a scary, nightmarish villain. I recommend this one, too!
Also, this needs to be a movie!
