While I was reading Nick Roberts’ The Exorcist’s House books, I added It Haunts the Mind: and Other Stories to my reading list.
And I’m so glad I did!
I just really love the multiple short story format. Each chapter is something completely different. It really kept me entertained.
The first chapter is Sally Under the Bed. It’s definitely supernatural. Different than what I usually read. There are other great reads, but some of my favorites are Hunting Season, about a hunting accident and what it does to you, The Devil’s Road, about a kid interested in doing a true crime podcast, The Wheeping Wind, about an accident that happens when a girl was very young, and The Noose, a western ghost story.
But hands down, my ultimate favorite is It Haunts the Mind.
This short story is part of The Exorcist’s House universe, which I love. It’s set after the prologue of the first book, The Exorcist’s House and the first chapter in that book.
It gives you more of that supernatural and demonic setting I love from those books. This time, with teenagers.
I seriously could read these stories all day long! In fact, book 3 just landed and it’s my next read. Can’t wait. I’m so excited!
