Devin participated in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra again this year. Last year, as noted in my post, Devin made the OYW (Oklahoma Youth Winds) band. This year, he made the second to the top band – OYP (Oklahoma Youth Philharmonic.) He is 1 of 3 trumpets, and we couldn’t be prouder. I know it’s a lot of work, but we’re so happy he’s continued to perform well for this organization. And we hope he continues even further. (I’ve been told the OYO – Oklahoma Youth Orchestra – is going to New York this year. What an amazing opportunity!)

Last year, OKYO had only one concert, in May. But this year, they’ve had one already with the Strings before the band joined in November. They start later due to marching band.

Their first concert altogether was in early February, and it’s amazing the level of performance for a band that hasn’t performed much. They practice just one day a week.

Here’s the performance from February 12th. Enjoy!

And here are pictures from the event:

And one more very important video. Austin doing his best dancing to the beat of the music!

Devin will participate in one more concert before this season ends. And that should be in May. I’ll update this post once we have that video.

Devin is also planning on trying out again for this group. If he makes it, he’ll decide whether or not to continue. I hope he sticks with it.

Also, see the program for this concert here. The list of songs this group performed is on page 17. The list of students performing in the OYP can be found on page 23.
