Spring is in the air here in Oklahoma! And my allergies are in full bloom. Thanks, Oklahoma and all your pollen.

It’s been a busy few months since the new year started. Kids are back in school nearly full time, Mondays through Thursdays with Friday being virtual. It has helped us out tremendously because working from home AND helping kids with school has been a daunting task.

Austin and I seem to have fully recovered from COVID. I still have trouble with taste but I’m back to running 7 miles a week: 3 on Monday, 2 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and 1 on Saturday.

Easter

If this doesn’t make you smile, nothing will!

Band

Devin has been working very hard on his trumpet. He has already performed in a concert this year and has upcoming tryouts for the Symphonic Band. He has another concert coming up, too. I’ll post the video when I can.

Soccer

Soccer is in full swing! Spring 2021 has kicked off, pun intended. Both Devin and Braden have had some ups and downs in soccer, but it makes them work harder for sure. And Devin’s team is playing up an age group this season. It has certainly pushed them but in a positive way I think. They learn more playing tougher teams than continuing to win 10-0 each game. We are hoping to get them involved in a tournament or two plus start indoor soccer this summer.

Braden’s team has really pulled it together the last couple of games. They are working as a team and it has so wonderful to see. I remember when Devin’s team finally hit that stage. It is breathtaking to watch.

Track

Devin’s also been doing Track at Deer Creek this year. I have only been able to go to one meet but he’s doing hurdles which were my events. I ran both the 100 and 300 hurdles, and he is doing the 110 and 300. It is so fun to watch, and he absolutely loves it. Check out the videos for last week’s events.

Weather

It is certainly Oklahoma. We had snow, then cool temps, then warm temps. We’ve already experienced the 80’s and all the pollen that comes with it. Now we are about to get rain and temps in the 50’s and 60’s. And with all the ice and snow this winter, I am worried about what the summer will bring!
