Last night was Sunday, and we decided to have salmon. I’m such a huge fan of salmon, and it’s actually popular among most of our family members.
One of my favorite ways to cook it is to marinate it in olive oil, garlic, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard for a great Asian Salmon flavor.
But this time, I wanted to try something different. We found a spice rub at Home Depot. I know, who knew!? I mean, it makes sense with all the grilling stuff they have. But I never thought of grabbing some spices from there. I am glad I did.
We picked up Boars Night Out Midwest Dust. And let me tell you, it is so good! I’ve taste-tested it a few times just while it’s in the bottle! I couldn’t wait to try it on the salmon.
So this is a really simple recipe. I laid the salmon on the platter and dusted both sides with the Midwest Dust. I’m not sure you can add too much.
While the salmon was resting, I cooked some Rice Pilaf, using garlic butter rather than regular butter, and made a salad.
Once the grill was hot, we took a cast iron skill and lightly coated it with olive oil, then added the salmon to it. We placed the skillet on the grill and cooked the 5 pieces of salmon in batches.
Not only was the smell divine, but the look was amazing.

Paird with the Rice Pilaf, salad, edamame for the kids, and air-fried green beans for Mike, this was the best dish we’ve had in a while. I can’t wait to have it for lunch today!
