Embrace AI!
That’s right. I said what I said!
I am currently a product marketer for the company I work for, focusing on a few plugin offerings. When I first moved into marketing, my job was fairly straightforward. I took older content, such as blog posts, and refreshed them. I updated the writing, added new information, improved the featured images, and made sure links were current, helpful, and connected to our sister brands. I also relied on our internal writing program and worked with agencies that provided ghostwritten articles. Those required detailed, thoughtful briefs so the writers could deliver the best content possible. I was really getting the hang of that rhythm.
Then my job shifted. Instead of updating what already existed or guiding others to write, suddenly I was the writer. I still had people reviewing my work, but the responsibility for producing content became mine. And it was not just one type of content, either. It became a daily mix of emails, social media posts, blog articles, landing pages, video transcripts, and more. I even found myself reviewing content from other brands to help catch errors and polish things up.
For a long time, I was firmly against using AI to help with any of this. I told myself that the writing should come from me. It felt more authentic that way. But I quickly discovered that using tools like ChatGPT and Gemini did not replace my voice. Instead, they supported it. And honestly, they made life a whole lot easier.
I started small. I used ChatGPT to fix a paragraph or help me add a sentence. Sometimes I asked it to write a quick summary or craft a more complete conclusion. But after taking a course on “training ChatGPT,” I realized how much more it could do. Not just for efficiency but for peace of mind.
Training ChatGPT is not a one-step process. It takes time and attention. You are essentially teaching it about your company, your products, your audience, and your tone so thoroughly that when you ask for an email or a blog introduction, it delivers exactly the type of content you would write yourself. Once I saw how powerful that could be, I started building out training prompts for four different brands.
And it worked. It worked really well.
There are still adjustments to make here and there, because no tool is perfect. But the content it produces is strong, and it arrives much faster than if I tried to start everything from scratch. That means I can spend more time on strategy, collaboration, and the parts of my job that need deeper thinking.
So yes, I have fully embraced ChatGPT, Gemini, and whatever other AI tools can help me work smarter. They support my creativity instead of replacing it, and they give me the space to focus on the things that matter most in my day-to-day work.
